The B.Ed Special
Education Distance Education programme (B.Ed-SE-DE Programme) is being
offered jointly by MPBOU,
Bhopal and
RCI, New
Delhi. It aims to develop professionals for Special Education within
a broad perception of education within a broad perception of education
in the twenty first century. The programme will educate and train
professional to enable them to imbibe knowledge, understanding attitude
and skill to impart education effectively to disabled.
Objectives
The B.Ed. (SE-DE)
programme of MPBOU aims to enable the trainees teachers to achieve the
following objectives :-
- To develop a broad prospective
of the role of specially trained professionals as an agent of change
in the prevailing and emerging Indian society in the ensuring age of
IT revolution and globalization.
- To perceive the so called
"disabled" as "differently abled" and develop in them the confidence
about their potentialities, abilities and usefulness to save the
society with a sense of freedom, self-respect and dignity.
- To develop professional
competencies to educate the disabled group of learners.
- To know and understand various
methods and approaches of organising learning experiences of
disabled group of learners in disability area for
inclusive/integrated/special education set up.
- To develop competencies for
selection and organisation of learning experiences.
- To know, understand and develop
the ability to manage a special school.
- To develop competencies to
organise various co-curricular and extra curricular activities.
Duration
The minimum duration
of the programme is 24 months for the current session. Normally the
programme will start from May 1 of each year which could be completed by
June end of subsequent year. However, the maximum period allowed for
completion of the programme will be 5 years.
Contact Programme
Contact programmes
will be organised at the study centres or at cluster centres approved by
RCI. In all there will be four contact sessions during the entire
programme.
Eligibility
1) Graduate
in any subject from any UGC recognized university. And
Fulfilling any of the following conditions:
a. Parent of a child with disability
b. Persons with disability
c. RCI recognized Diploma in Special Education(DSE)
d. Bridge course of RCI
e. Foundation course.
f. Two years experience in a special school.

15000/- payable in Single Installments :-
Programme Guide
(Prospectus) may be purchased from CRC Srinagar by sending a Demand
Draft of Rs. 550/- in favour of the Registrar, MPBOU, Bhopal.
Medium of Instruction and Examination
- Self Instructional material will
be available in English.
- Curricular transaction may be in
English/Hindi/Regional Language.
- Assignments, practical records,
internal assessment tests may be written by the candidate in
English/Hindi/Regional Language.
- Term end examination will be
held in English/Hindi.

The programme of B.Ed.
(Special Education) through distance mode will consist of 15 courses, 9
theory courses and 6 practical courses. Different components of the

Examination Dates
After the completion
of the programme requirements, the university will declare the dates of
term end examination.
RCI Certification As a Registered Professional Teacher
The successful
candidates of this B.ED. (SE-DE) programme which has been jointly
formulated by MPBOU & RCI will enable them to obtain a "Registered
Professional Certificate" from the Rehabilitation Council of India to
work as a teacher in the field of special education. For this the
students have to apply to RCI directly.
